Playing with papers on the forehead.

Игра с бумажками на лбу

During a recent winter hike in the Carpathians amid crazy trash and hard weather, we suddenly “Drawing” a calm and sincere evening. We were sitting warm (at the weather station), full, almost dry and not too tired, there was nothing to do and we decided to play guessing games with pieces of paper on our foreheads.

At the beginning, everyone puts a sticker on the neighbor’s forehead with the name of some famous character. As a result, you see the characters of other players, but you do not know what is written on your own forehead. This is what you need to find out with the help of standard “danetok” with the peculiarity that you should try to get exactly positive answers, because at the first “no” the right to ask passes to the next player.

Unlike classic danettes, the game with pieces of paper on the forehead involves more communication, since the answer is not known to one person (who may turn out to be a dry formalist radish), but all at once, and this encourages participants to comment on questions and try to tell the guesser the right direction of the search. But there are also drawbacks – the fear of losing a move leads to a long deliberation and careful formulation of each question. But the funniest thing in this game is that you constantly catch glances (attentive, surprised, sympathetic) on yourself, directed not at the eyes, but at the forehead.

As a result, the evening was a success – we played great, kneaded the rusted gears, and I also took a picture.

And when I returned home, I decided to check Akinator (http://ru.akinator.com – a program that guesses characters) the most intricate and long-guessed questions of the evening.

Artificial intelligence disguised as a genie easily figured out our “problem” tasks, showing super-intuition in places. Questions “Does your character’s first and last name start with the same letter?” (in the game about K. Kinchev) and “Does your character fly?” (in the game about Carlson) appeared almost out of nowhere. It is clear that this ingenuity is explained by the phenomenal memory of Akinator, he literally remembers the experience of many thousands of games. But all the same, when you come across this in practice, the feeling that this bastard genie does not guess the character, but reads your thoughts, does not leave.
