I returned from Nepal at the end of November. Over the past month and a half, I managed to promise a whole bunch of people that soon, soon I would write a miracle report and acquaint everyone with it. Recently I came across a similar article about books that I read in 2015. It turned out that even a microdescription is enough to recall an almost forgotten plot. You can literally refresh a huge amount of information (albeit not very important) in your memory in just 10 minutes. Inspired, I quickly sketched out my reading list for the past 2019. I wrote more for myself, so there is little embellishment in the text and a lot of spoilers. Be careful!
Books read in 2015
Why did I make this list? First, to brag. Secondly, so as not to forget. And of course, in order to give you the idea “to read this.”
Therefore, the rating given in front of each book reflects rather not how I feel about this literary work, but how much I can recommend this book to friends. Anything below 5 points can be skipped with a clear conscience. And the rest, in my opinion, is worth attention. Read for health!
Retro over sad reefs
And without that, the ancient classics of “sad” metal were drawn to a very gray-haired antiquity. In 2015, the leader of Candlemass, bassist Leif Edling, organized the side project AVATARIUM, working in a softer retro theme (people in the know say that this is 60s-ish). In the winter of 2016, my wife and I decided to bask a little in the sun and at the same time “run in” the Schengen visa by going on a trip to Spain in a rented car. This is not the first experience of auto travel, before that we traveled in this way in Turkey, Mexico and Sri Lanka. We had a good idea of what we were capable of and, based on our interests, planned to visit about 20 settlements and 3,300 kilometers of crossings in 15 days of travel. There were all the most iconic cities (Madrid, Seville, Granada, etc.) and several natural attractions (Torcal, Sierra Nevada, the sea).
Trade in trains RyanAir
The other day, I flew for the first time with the low-cost Ryanair. Before that, I had heard a lot about the fact that “they have it there, like in an electric train.” But, to be honest, I didn’t really remember what it was like an electric train there. I thought it would be somehow especially crowded – narrow passages, little oxygen, a lot of checkered market bags. But no – the aisles are ordinary, the bags are within reason.

In an airplane duty magazine, my attention was drawn to the “healing bracelet”®, which was recommended to everyone except passengers with pacemakers. The word was unfamiliar, but I guessed that they were talking about pacemakers. And then I looked in the dictionary that pace is step length or walking pace. It immediately became curious to look at the consonant peacemaker. Of course, this is a peacemaker, but also a revolver (jokingly) and even a machine gun.
A little later, at the tail of the plane, bored in line for the latrine (we are on the ship!), On one of the many drawers I read an incomprehensible holloware. Is this a holographic projector? The dictionary at first gave way to this word. Even the root of the word was calculated doubtfully. Hollo is some kind of exclamation or shout. And the hologram is written through one “L”.
Then I guessed to look at another spelling – hollowware and everything was cleared up. This is the name of deep dishes (pots, bowls, etc.). And the root immediately fell into place: hollow – cavity, recess, hollow.
What else is there to translate? For example, how would “snot” be in English? Sniffles. Strange, but I don’t think I’ve come across this word before. I finally broke into the toilet and, being alone, I can deal with, sorry, boogers – snots. By inertia, I watch how it will “blow your nose” – blow your nose. Finally a familiar word! Now you can with a clear conscience return to the chair and sleep. There are still 3 long hours to the destination.
