For some reason, my wife laughed much less often, but she also managed to recognize herself a couple of times, and it was in positive (for this film) male characters. As another example of “humor on recognition” we can name the miniatures of Gentle from the Comedy Club (as opposed to the “humor of exaggeration” often used by Kharlamov).

The film “Gosford Park” – an unusual detective story
It’s not often that my family manages to get me out for a movie screening. This time I bought into the promise of the classic English detective story. I was hoping to enjoy the atmosphere of good old England and practice a little (after all, everyone is interested in guessing the killer before the brilliant detective in the final scene puts everything on the shelves).Gosford Park wasn’t that kind of movie at all.
“Oh God” – 1977 film
It’s simple – God appears to the common man and appoints him as the messiah. Go, they say, bring the good news to the masses (that I am).For some reason this story seemed very familiar to me. Somewhere I have seen or read something similar. Similar in meaning, but not in the way of presentation. The film is very simple – no mysticism, zero special effects, a minimum of gravitas, everything is said in plain text. The Creator appears in the form of a tiny old man, completely devoid of any majesty, and he says terribly simple things (the world can be “fixed”, everything is in your hands, freedom of choice, I’m not your nanny). This is 1977 – they don’t shoot like that now.
Why is there a curtain in the cinema?
For some reason, I remembered that delightful anticipation of a miracle that you experience at the moment when, after the demonstration of trailers and advertising (give “Yeralash” or “Wick”!) The curtain in the cinema crawls to the sides, the screen becomes wider , the light is completely extinguished … The movie begins.
And then suddenly it became interesting – why do we need a curtain in the cinema? What is he covering? This is not a theater where the scenery needs to be changed. After rummaging through my memory, I found that I was not sure if this same curtain is in modern cinemas like IMAX. Maybe they canceled them a long time ago, and my question is no longer relevant?
Alexander Rybak – new song with metalworkers
The new song is Alexander Rybak’s performance with Norwegian metallers Keep of Kalessin (they play black-metal). This extraordinary event happened during the qualifying competition for the next Eurovision Song Contest. As far as I understand, the song itself does not participate in the competition, but in vain.
I have never been fond of Rybak’s work, or black metal, and even more so Eurovision, but I must admit that the performance turned out to be impressive (the cameraman is also great). Alexander, we must give him his due, perfectly fit into the team of metalworkers, caught the energy, caught the wave.

Why do teachers prepare for lessons?
Why do teachers prepare for lessons? They are teachers and they know everything. That’s what I thought as a child.
Now I am a travel instructor. It’s almost like a teacher (physical education, labors and geography at once). And before each lesson (hike) I prepare. Even if I know the route like my own apartment, I review the map, check the points in the GPS, analyze the timing of previous passes along the route, browse the travel forums and make other magical passes.
Is there any practical benefit from this, or is it all just for complacency? Probably, calmness and confidence are quite practical things. So, there is a benefit.
Birthday of the Invincible Sun
The radio was playing Christmas carols like “Santa Claus is coming to town” and “Run, Rudolph, run”. In between, the DJ talked about whether Coca-Cola marketing “invented” Santa or vice versa (Santa invented the drink) and other Christmas gossip.
Of course, you can support the topic of gossip and grumble about “But in fact …”: about birthday of Mitra and the Invincible Sun, about not celebrating a birthday and other historical incidents.
But why do this, if it is in our power to choose a different path – to sincerely rejoice. For anything – you can always find a reason: the night is retreating, Christ is born, the Christmas tree has grown, the budget has been accepted, the gifts are packed, the pillow is soft, the coffee is strong, life is beautiful.

I usually try not to read other people’s reviews before I write about the film myself. This time, I specifically climbed into the Internet to understand whether the film “Tourist” seemed to me alone to be extremely uninteresting. And yes – sales statistics and a few reviews say that the movie is a failure.I even got the impression that all the hype around the potential affair between Jolly and Depp and their jealous spouses was raised specifically to somehow increase public interest in a hopeless film.
Viktor Pelevin – Operation Burning Bush
Last night I sat down and in a couple of hours I read the first story from Pelevin’s new book “Pineapple Water for a Beautiful Lady”. Consider this (sat down and read) the first compliment to the work.
And today, in just an hour and a half, I retold “Operation” Burning Bush “in detail to my wife, who generally does not like Pelevin. She was interested. These are compliments number two, three and four.

A year ago (well, a little over a year) I wrote this world “Hi”. This was the beginning of my creative path exhibitionist blogger.

Kyiv Circus – Scary, Fun, Funny
Last week I went with my family to the Kyiv circus for the program “Scary, Fun, Funny”. This was my first visit to the circus after a 5-year break, so I can say that I took a fresh look at what was happening and even understood something.I realized that no stereo 3d screens can replace the taste of reality. It’s one thing to look at movie stunts (knowing there’s a montage and rendering) and it’s quite another thing to see an acrobat with your own eyes (who immediately noticed that there was no insurance) . Even clowns are funnier when you see them live. It’s hard to explain, it’s like theater magic.
Delivery at night
Recently, online stores, and many other trade organizations have switched to delivery at night. More precisely, in the evening, but given that in winter the evening begins immediately after lunch, delivery made at 22:00 can be considered a night delivery.

Why is “International Mountain Day” December 11th?
I found out by chance that today, December 11, is International Mountain Day. Another professional holiday (for me)? Excellent! And in honor of what exactly today? We google, we google…. and we don’t find it.Thousands of sites write that Mountain Day has been celebrated since 2002 (which, according to the UN, was the year of mountains), that Kyrgyzstan has something to do with all this (apparently as the venue for the conference). But no one knows what explains the choice of the date – December 11th. OS reinstallation
Reinstalling the operating system fell on me like … in short, not at the most opportune moment. A lot of work, a minuscule amount of time, and then the laptop refuses to see the grid. This problem could certainly have been solved in a different way, but the existing operating system got so slow with its slowness that the decision to reinstall the system took shape in my head.
I perfectly understand that I will lose time, that I will spend an abyss of strength and nerves, but despite this, in the depths of my soul there is a small and inexplicable spark of joy.
Yogurt in a yogurt maker or antibiotics in milk
A newly purchased yogurt maker suddenly stopped producing yogurt. Not sour and all. The maximum that is obtained is the usual yogurt. To determine the cause, my homework recklessly put on numerous experiments. They try milk from different manufacturers, “wake up the bacteria” (or who should wake up there), sterilize the dishes, read the instructions aloud to the starter (so that it knows what to do). Success has not yet been achieved, however, milk consumption (for experiments) has doubled.I not only participate in the yogurt hysteria as a guinea pig (I love everything sour-milk, even experimental), but also use it as a source of inspiration.
